Precept

The Precept is the element of your Council Tax that is paid to West Hunsbury Parish Council.

Every year, the Parish Council draws up a budget and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. This is then submitted to West Northants Council (WNC). The principle council then includes the parish council element into the main council tax amount and publishes the new bills in late March.

The budget for 2024-2025 was discussed and agreed at the full parish council meeting in December 2023. There are several identified priorities for the coming financial year, these include community events, replacement of the damaged waste bins, new benches in the parish and an updated parish plan.

The approved annual budget for 2024-2025 is £44,235.00, this will be financed from the precept which will be £27,500 and also council reserves. Unfortunately due to an unavoidable rise in costs across the whole budget the council will have to increase the precept from its current level of £25,000. This increase will result in a rise of £1.63 a year for an average Band D property. Please see below for a copy of the approved budget.
