Parking charges to restart across West Northamptonshire from Friday 1 May
Published: 1 May 2026
West Northamptonshire Council has confirmed that off-street parking charges will restart on Friday 1 May, following a temporary suspension introduced after an error associated with earlier changes to parking arrangements.
Parking charges will revert back to the original arrangements with the same tariffs which were in place before 1 April.
Visitors are reminded that parking will be free on Monday 4 May due to the bank holiday, in line with previous arrangements. There will also be two hours free parking on Saturday and Sunday.
Motorists using council run car parks and on street parking bays are advised to check signage and payment information locally. Further details can be found on the Council website.
We are still working on our mechanism for people to claim refunds for the incorrect charges applied throughout April and expect to be able to update on these soon. Further details will be published on our website and social media.
